Peter Dinges is CEO of the German Federal Film Board since April 2004.
He graduated from law at University of Freiburg in 1991, before working several years as a lawyer in commercial law and later as Head of Business at Munich-based licensing company Telepool.
Peter Dinges is a member of the advisory board of German Films, the national information and advisory center for the promotion of German films worldwide, as well as of the general assembly of Vision Kino, a non-profit organization which promotes cinema and media literacy for children and adolescents.
In 2008 Peter Dinges was awarded by the French Ambassador with the “Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” for his commitment to promote and foster cooperation between the film industries of France and Germany. In addition he was appointed “Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” in May 2014 by the French Minister of Culture and “Chevalier de l'ordre de la Couronne de Chêne” by the Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel in February 2016.
In September 2016, the members of the pan-European network EFAD (European Film Agency Directors) - a non-profit association of the national public film funding institutions in Europe - re-elected him Chairman of the Board (President).
