Director of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in charge of Public Affairs & Communications, Guillaume Klossa is also responsible for media research, knowledge management and strategic events. He has been since June 2015 EBU Big data initiative project leader, with the objective to develop an interdisciplinary, innovative, cooperative, and open ecosystem on big data challenges between European public service media.
Before joining the EBU early 2013, his career combined business and media experience including columnist for the European daily Metro, programme-maker/presenter for several TV channels (Bolloré and Vivendi group), and senior top executive positions such as Bureau Veritas group digital director, and Vice President of McDonald’s France with extended responsibilities to Southern Europe.
In the public sphere, Guillaume was special adviser to Jean-Pierre Jouyet, secretary of State in charge of the French presidency of the European Union. He became then sherpa to the European Council's Reflection Group on the Future of Europe, and finally director of the ‘Innovation & Production in Europe Mission’ of the French Ministry of Economy & Finance.
A writer, Guillaume published ‘Une jeunesse Européenne’ in 2014. He also created the EuropaNova think tank, and the EU 40under40 European young leader programme. He is an alumnus of HEC Paris (MBA), the London School of Economics (CEMS MIM Master) and Sciences Po Paris (Master in Public administration). He taught at HEC, ENA, College of Europe and spoke at many international conferences worldwide.
